‘ASHA BHAVAN’ Home for the senior disabled women and women in distress was established in the year 2016 and is owned and managed by the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross, at their convent in Tivim, Damedem, Goa. It is a unit of Karnataka Holy Cross Sisters’ Society.
OBJECTIVES OF THE INSTITUTE
The objective of starting ‘Asha Bhavan’ the home for Senior Disabled women and women in distress is to provide quality care and to give hope for the senior disabled women and to women with any type of distress and to ensure that they live with respect and dignity in a secure, compassionate, congenial environment and surrounding. .
MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION
The general management and administration of ‘Asha Bhavan - the home for Senior Disabled women and women in distress is vested with the Resident administrator appointed by the Provincial administration of the South province of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross Congregation, Bangalore.
We Provide compassionate care and give hope to those above 45 years of age and are physically & mentally challenged and are bed ridden; those with parkinsonism and also to women in distress(18-45 yrs). Our aim is to ensure that they live with respect and dignity in a secure congenial environment.
We provide intermediate short term care to woman patients suffering from recent stroke, paralysis who are being discharged from hospital in order to enable the family and care givers sufficient time to make satisfactory arrangements at home and simultaneously undergo training in the care of the disabled/bedridden woman at home.
